Poem for ToaoYou kept me up when I was feeling too down,
and if it just was with a fresh filled coffee mug,
you would have never allowed me to run out of town,
you would have hold me with a honest hug.
You followed me along through worlds of fantasy,
with a smirk and plenty a scientific invention,
but also believing in magic, one can't always see,
holding up both equal, never afraid to mention.
You also defended me when foes attacked and
never asked for much in return, for this magic,
which is so powerful, but needs no magic wand,
for it is plain to see friendship, that's the trick.
Friend, sibling, companion through adventures out there,
you give so much of this all, really, that I wonder,
this energy, this all needs, you take it from where,
and how in the universe I deserve this, makes me ponder.
A writer, skilled both comical and truly thoughtful,
more talented than many, yet always humble and honest,
you'd never hurt anyone or want to break a rule,
still open for each fun and party, but also yo
Chapter 1.2The New Beginning
The connection was finally broken Natasha stood panting in the centre of her command chamber, her face was beet red with frustration as she throw her wrist remote to the floor and promptly crushed it under her high heels. The scientist and coffee boy covered their ears as a high pitched squeak emanated from the remains of the wrist remote, Natasha screamed again as she smashed the remains of the wrist remote with her heel several times. She let out an orgasmic moan as the wrist remote finally dies under her heel, as her moan subsides the distinct sound of a chuckle could be heard coming from the science labs.
Who DARES laugh at me! Natasha screamed at the top of her lungs as she stormed over towards the nervous scientist and lone coffee boy. She glares at each one in turn demanding to know whom it was that chuckled at her misfortune, all eyes turned on the coffee boy. The coffee boy could not be more then seventeen years old, he could not kee
Prologue 1.0The Cold War
It's hard to realise that this is my life. Fighting a war over magic, between those that have it and those that believe that we are a defect something that needs to be whipped from existence. My life has taken a strange turn it seems, but this is not the weirdest part of my life. A blast of energy goes off near me; I look at the scorch mark on the grass besides me momentarily. Damn that was close. Now where was I... oh, right the weirdest part is my friends, who have become my family now. I look down the line of the trench we now find ourselves in, a side effect of the timeshifts weapon one of our own let of thinking it was a standard toaster. Our presence as always unseen by the rest of the world due to our somebody-else's-problem bubble we have creating through our shared magical link to hide us and our fight in plain sight. Our private little war goes on.
The woman next to me in dressed in her tight fitting bodysuit; you w
Wanderer: Chapter 1Mutants.
At any single point in time, any number of events can take place within a certain threshold of probability. For each different path a single particle can take, there are a countless number of timelines wherein which the particle took that path, and a countless number of timelines wherein which that particle didnt take that path. Such is the basis of alternate universe theory.
Whether the number of alternate universes in existence are literally countless is still uncertain, but it is known that in one of these alternate realities, the entire human genome played the role of the wayward particle and took an erratic path right into the blender. In this universe, sometime around the beginning of the American baby boom, babies began exhibiting strange mutations. Most of these mutations were minor things like unnatural hair and eye colors, or tails. Others, like so-called superpowers and functioning extra body parts, were a lot more striking. The sudden appearance o
Many months passed since Azalea Cloud discovered the origin of herself and of her species. On a glorious autumn evening, at sunset, she reclined face-up on her bed, lost in thought. Rappy Winters, her mentor in the magics, had one of her extra bedrooms furnished and decorated to the Shivites liking, and she was allowed to stay there, so long as she continued her training and contributed to the household chores. With no money left to her name and no means to make more, save for the occasional odd job, she was grateful for Rappys hospitality.
Azzy had unlocked a surprising amount of hidden magical talent since becoming Rappys apprentice. She knew now that her fortes in spellcasting lie in divine protection and elemental manipulation. Rappy had also granted her a sword called the Rainbow Angel, which sported little putti wings and had a blade colored like the Shivites hair. In addition to being a formidable melee weapon, the Angel proved to be a powerful magical im
Wanderer: Chapter 3One day passed, and what would otherwise be a quiet afternoon in a certain universes version of Brooksville, Florida was being ruined by severe weather. The Tyler twins lived on a dirt road in the outskirts. Theirs was the first neighborhood one could see if one entered town from the north. It was going to be a messy commute for any of their neighbors, if and when they got released from work.
The meteorologist on Sarah and Ericas TV took on a blurred, snowy appearance, but his words were coming in clear. The Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for all of Hernando, Pasco, Hillsborough, and Polk Counties. All residents are strongly encouraged to stay indoors and
Typical bay area weather, Sarah groaned, burying her face into her palm. At least its not a hurricane.
Yeah added her sister Erica, But for all we know, Dodge could still be out there.
Well, it sucks to be her, then.
Wanderer: Chapter 6Shivites.
Thousands of years ago, a group of planeswalkers known as the Genome Ancients came to this universe with the goal of creating the perfect sentients. They farmed the DNA of Earths humans and reconstructed it, speeding up the evolutionary process in the way they saw fit. The Ancients interpreted human behavior and saw that they valued hard work, good looks, and friendship. But the Ancients also saw that many humans who had adapted to settling down rather than hunting and gathering were exhibiting none of these traits that they claimed to value so highly. And so they set forth to populate a new planet with corrected versions of humans.
The features that define a Shivite all serve a basic purpose, be it symbolic or physiological. Their doubled arms represent their increased workload capacity. They would aid in the human value of hard work. Their brightly colored hair and eyes help them attract mates, as does a peacocks feathers. They would aid in the human
Wanderer: Chapter 7In short order, the traveling trio were in the back seat of Hakons speeder; Dodge on the left, Azalea in the middle, and Em-Kay on the right. The Shivite had the timeshifter pulled in close to her, so that Em-Kay could enjoy a great view whether he was looking to his left or his right.
Gurin and Hakon still wanted to ask the humans a few questions and get to know them better, but they figured Dodge and Em-Kay were too busy taking in the sights to care at the moment. This being the two humans first time on Tradugu, they wanted to make the environment around them as hospitable as possible. Any sort of interview could wait.
Finally Azalea broke the silence as she caught Em-Kay staring out the window for longer than usual. Told ya it looks like New New York, sort of.
Heh. Yeah, but without all the tubes, he replied with a wink.
A minute or two later, the speeder found its way to the apartment building in which Hakon lived. Though considered the qui
