Europe in 2743 by DanielaLaverne Europe in 2743 by DanielaLaverne
Those are the successor states of the European Union in 2743: Most of them dominated by the Polonian Commonwealth as members of a European Common Defense Treaty ... actually more like satellite states.

Only other major power but the Commonwealth are the Antreyki Controlled Territories in Scandinavia.

(This illustrates Europe as it exists in Polonian Tales and Triquetra Cats.)

That's really interestingĄ I should make my own version of Europe in future :) Good job. however, I would love to see Lithuania as a part of Scandia

Ačiū! =)

I'm glad you like it! =) I made Lietuva a part of the Polonian Commonwealth in reference to the time of the old Abiejų Tautų Respublika, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth of the Two Nations. As mentioned before, I am that much of an history geek-ette. ^^;

Your idea of a Scandinavian Lithuania sounds nice, I would certainly like to see your version of a future Europe. :nod:

Being part German myself I think I know what you mean: The idea of a established Polish (actually Polonian) superpower nation might sound a bit off, but as well ... yes, plausible.

Not much more than 400 years ago the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth of the Two Nations stretched from Germany to the Crimean Peninsula and from Estonia to the Black Sea. Polish cavalrymen were of valid importance in breaking the Ottoman Siege of Vienna.

*blushes* Yes, I'm a bit of a history geek-ette. ^^;

...And you can add to that future possibilities, as Poland is (in theory) quite likely to become an important economic power in the coming century/ies, at least at the regional level, since it is in an interesting startegic position between west and est and could benefit from investment and integration (ex. EU) :D

...By the way, I wouldn't accept such a map from anyone other than a (any kind of) history geek

Thank you! =) Yes, it's a bit strange, but in almost 700 years a lot of not awaited things may happen. ^^

Thanks. =)
Sure, I'd like to see some kind of united Earth one day, but this map is basing on/related to a web-comic universe, where there is nothing as this, but only the United Consortium of Nations and Planets (UCNP), which is rather just an expanded UN.

No problem. I'm doing the spin-off to Triquetra Cats - Polonian Tales - since last year, both comics can be found here: [link] (For my comic: You'll find it in November and December 2007 three times a week and from then on almost every Sunday.)

Yes, the background story to the comics is a bit complex, that's true. Triquetra Cats is mostly a Science Fiction / Magic / Fantasy / Magic Girl manga. Polonian Tales now ... well, it started with me wondering about how Europe would look like in this world. Then I added some character ideas. Jessica did approve and voila! my comic was born. :nod:

Polonian, the word, is basing on Polonia, the old Latin name for Poland. Today Polonian is used as a term describing all Poles, people with Polish heritage and people who just feel Polish, all over the world. It is a uniting term.

Certainly an interesting concept - I see Poland has gone full circle :)

Thankees! - and yup, the Polonian Commonwealth continued where the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth ended in 1795 ... plus a few more areas, like Germany for example.

Eventually the new Commonwealth got founded after the events in the 25th century that were so disastrous for the old Japan and the Caucasus (yes, the Black Sea is certainly greater on that map ...).

Hehehe, yes it does ... =D

There was a comet (no impact though) ... followed by strong seismic activities ... I have an article written about it, but, well, actually the text is just half-written at the moment.

I'll make sure to post a link to it here, soonish. ^_^

Sounds very interesting :)
A thought occurs, would the effects of Chernobyl finally have diminished by the 2740s? Would be quite ironic if refugees from south Ukraine went and rebuilt on the old site of Pripyat...

Chernobyl, hmmm ... I remember I was afraid of getting out in the rain for ten years after it ... But yeah, your thoughts are interesting and ironic. With the Southern Ukraine under water, people might consider the radiation in Chernobyl the lesser of two evils ... *diabolic artist's laugher* ... in fact, I just got a great idea, how to build this into the TC/PT world ... =D
